Executive Coach Mike Martorella

Trusted Advisor to Senior Executives

Mike Martorella, Founder of MMI Communication, is an executive coach and management advisor who works one-on-one with senior level leaders at companies including Bunge, IBM and Air Products.

He is known for asking provocative questions that help leaders frame the issues and “tune in” to audiences. As a result, his clients become effective communicators who build success for themselves, their people and their organizations.

Connecting Leaders with Stakeholders

Mike’s communication career spans 20 years. Prior to founding MMI, he was Vice Chairman of Magnet Communications and CEO of ACG Communications, Public Relations and Integrated Marketing agencies. In these positions, he helped some of the world’s top business leaders orchestrate their corporate messages for varied and complex stakeholder groups.

As a business leader, Mike was constantly finding and implementing better solutions, developing high-powered teams to establish and deliver on business objectives; challenging status quo; establishing vision; earning trust and building credibility; following through and consistently communicating with clarity and confidence. Above all, he connected purpose with people to make things happen.

Helping Leaders Communicate with Confidence

Today, one of Mike’s key strengths is coaching CEOs and senior executives to integrate their leadership philosophy, message and individual style. He believes that the most effective executives present information in ways that emanate from their own personality and character. As a result, they communicate with ease and confidence.

He credits much of his business success to his roots in theater where he directed the London production of “Grease” and stage managed original Broadway productions, the most memorable of which include “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, “El Bravo”, “Frankenstein” and “Grease”.

Understanding the Issues

Mike says that one of the most important lessons that carries over from my Broadway and business experience straight to the Boardroom is the importance of listening and asking questions to gain an understanding of the real issues at stake and the political currents while staying focused on priorities and the big picture.

An accomplished and dynamic public speaker, Mike has also presented keynote addresses and communications workshops for his corporate clients.

Mike is an adjunct professor in Fairleigh Dickenson University’s Silberman College of Business Administration where he teaches a course on Executive Communication and Leadership. He has been a chairman for TEC International, a think tank organization for CEOs. He received his undergraduate degree from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. After graduation and service to his country, he went on to obtain a Master’s degree from the School of Fine Arts at the University of Connecticut.
