Bedminster, New Jersey – Mike Martorella, Founder of MMI Communication and an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, has been elected vice president of professional development for New Jersey chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants. He will also join the Princeton-based chapter’s board of directors. Martorella, a resident of Bedminster, is an executive coach and management advisor who works one-on-one with senior level leaders at companies including Bunge, IBM and MCI.
As vice president, Martorella will lead the development of workshops that will provide consultants with opportunities to hone their professional skills.
“Professional development is vital for management consultants who want to stay competitive and grow their businesses,” says Loraine Huchler, Certified Management Consultant and chapter president. “Mike’s extensive experience with global companies has strengthened his understanding of the skills that clients value in consultants. He’ll bring this expertise and insight to the chapter’s professional development position.”
“My goal is to offer interactive workshops where consultants get hands-on experience learning and refining their skills,” says Martorella. “Over the next few months I will be working closely with the board and chapter members to identify development needs and select trainers.”
Martorella’s communication career spans 20 years. Prior to founding MMI Communication (www.mmicom.com), he was vice chairman of Magnet Communications and CEO of ACG Communications, Public Relations and Integrated Marketing agencies. Mike is an adjunct professor in Fairleigh Dickenson University’s Silberman College of Business Administration where he teaches an MBA course on Executive Communication and Leadership. He is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants, and is listed in Yearbook.com as a leadership expert and senior executive advisor. He has an undergraduate degree from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania, and Master’s degree from the School of Fine Arts at the University of Connecticut.
Martorella coaches CEOs, senior executives and their teams to integrate their leadership philosophy, message and individual style. “The most effective executives present information in ways that emanate from their own personality and character. As a result, they communicate with ease and confidence,” says Martorella.
