Bedminster, New Jersey - MMI Communication announced that it has made holiday donations to the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in honor of its clients.

“Someone you know has diabetes. This disease affects millions, and we have close friends and family who have suffered deeply as a result of its devastating effects,” says Mike Martorella, Founder of MMI Communication. “Our contribution to the ADA on behalf of our clients will help fund research for a cure and increase awareness of this potentially debilitating disease.”

About 6.3% of the US population is estimated to have diabetes, according to AMA data from 2002 and the disease was the sixth leading cause of death in the US in 2000.

Founded in 1940, the American Diabetes Association is the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy. The mission of the Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
